Joshua "Doc" Lewis, PhD

Joshua "Doc" Lewis is Check-6 Training Systems’ Chief Technology Officer. Obtaining a B.S. in Aeronautical Science and his pilot’s license, Doc went on to get his Masters’ in Software Engineering and a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation by age 26.

Before he even received his doctorate, Doc was a man to be desired. Hired by Lockheed Martin in 2002, Doc was assigned the task of leading the team building the F-35 Pilot Training Aid, a system using the latest video game technology to train the next generation of America’s fighter pilots to fly the most advanced aircraft in the world. His responsibilities also included demonstrating the technology for customers on-site and at national and international tradeshows. This put Doc in contact with the heads of large corporations and government organizations, allowing him to successfully market to them why the product he helped develop was the best of the best.

In 2007, Doc began working on a new challenge for Lockheed Martin, leading their Engineering Leadership Development Program. His task was to train, mentor, and cultivate high potential employees representing all engineering functions. For the next few years, Doc was accountable to Lockheed’s executive management for the program’s successful planning and operation.

Today, Doc works for Check-6 Training Systems, developing the advanced technology needed to run the RTMS simulation applications and JSA Management System. Still considered one of the brightest and most talented in his field of study, Doc has built the architecture and technology into these platforms that will allow them to evolve with the state of the art for years to come. His contributions to the field of Modeling and Simulation advance beyond anything imagined possible until now.
