SCOPE
Check-6 uses a 5-phased approach to cultural improvement in performance, efficiency and safety:

A standard Check-6 Rig/Site Training Program will run between 3 to 6 months.

INTRODUCTION PHASE
We begin on-shore with a vibrant Keynote Address and meet with your operational teams. During the Introduction Phase, your crews will learn the similarities between aircraft carrier flight environments, NASA space shuttle operations, and the high-risk environment of drilling rigs or mining sites. We focus on the fundamentals of our Check-6 Plan-Based Execution to improve performance, efficiency, and safety. Each rig/site requires 2 – 4 Introduction Phases, depending on crew size and rotation schedules. Scheduling is driven by client operational needs.

ASSESSMENT PHASE
Our Check-6 team then provides a detailed execution assessment of your organization. Where are you strong? Where are the points of vulnerability for your company and crews? We do that by spending time observing your workforce in their typical operational environment. Our experts complete a thorough review of your current safety management policies and procedures. We then observe your crews executing multiple tasks, to include: Planning, Briefing, Execution, and After-Action Reviews using PTW, JSA, JTA, and other performance/safety tools. The assessment is critiqued from the same perspective and criteria that is required of fighter pilots and combat strike leads going through TOPGUN training curriculum. Once the assessment is complete, Check-6 delivers a concise briefing to your company’s leadership along with a refined training plan tailored to your needs.

IMPLEMENTATION PHASE 
Now that Check-6 has detailed the strengths and vulnerabilities within your company, it is time to make positive changes for performance, efficiency, and safety. During our Implementation Phase, we conduct customized training, mentoring, and coaching. We will assist you in developing a TOPGUN culture where we improve your company’s Planning, Briefing, Execution, and After-Action Review. Your crews will learn from mistakes and move forward to correct them. This “Debrief Culture” is critical, as it encourages teamwork and active communication. If protocols and techniques do not exist, we will work with you to develop them. At Check-6, we give individuals and teams the tools they need to take ownership in each task or objective. We will gain deliberate execution and predictable results through:

  • Effective planning
  • Articulation of the plan through briefing and confirming understanding
  • Efficient use of execution controls already in place or developed through the planning process
  • Conducting thorough After Action Reviews or Debriefs
  • Establishing protocols for sharing lessons learned
  • Create a culture of Cross Checks, Oversight and Mutual Support

We accomplish this through classroom instruction, personalized training, role-play and real-time coaching. Offshore training is conducted with little or no disruption to crew schedules along with leadership roundtables.

SUSTAINMENT PHASE
Introduce, Assess, Implement, and Sustain. At Check-6 we know you want deliverable results over time. That’s why we focus on refining and reinforcing the new processes and culture change. Our experts do this through review sessions, direct mentoring, and coaching of your crews. We want the positive changes to stick, and work with you to achieve that goal.
