At the upcoming IADC Lifting and Handling Convention July 13-14, 2010,  Yarko “JJ” Sos, an expert at planning, briefing, execution and debriefing (AAR) as well as a legend in US Naval Aviation, will present an in-depth look at how risk assessment in JSA execution can be raised to a "higher level" -- to the TOPGUN standard of combat operations training.  The current JSA system can be very cumbersome without an efficient or effective change management in place. Hazard and risk discussions occur in absence of, or prior to, the agreement on a planned course of action. This high energy presentation filled with entertaining video clips will introduce a new JSA Management System which literally saves thousands of man-hours per year per rig and makes the JSA program a more effective tool to improve safety, while increasing operational efficiency across the board!  There are clear, concise, identifiable solutions to dramatically improve the drilling industry toward that objective while achieving Operational Excellence.

During his military career, JJ  ran the US Navy Fighter Weapons School, known worldwide as TOPGUN and retired from the military as the Commander of the 119th Fighter Squadron in the NJ Air National Guard.  He flew 27 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, 12 strike missions in NATO Bosnia operations, and participated in four other combat deployments to Iraq.  This is a presentation you will not want to miss.
