Scott "Jethro" Kelly

Scott "Jethro" Kelly is a multi-talented leader and gifted presenter who was one of the original members of the Check-6 team. Drawing from a lifetime of experience in hazardous environments, Jethro uses his extensive instructional and public speaking skills to motivate crews to adopt the best practices from aircraft carrier and commercial aviation for their own continuous improvement.

His Navy career began at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he challenged himself beyond the norm. While completing his four years of studies, he also worked during the summers as a wrestling coach, whitewater kayaking guide, and ranch hand in Wyoming where he first learned to fly. All the while he excelled in sports, becoming the team captain, an eastern champion, nationally ranked Div IA wrestler, and a member of the USNA Hall of Fame.

Over the course of the next 20 years, honed his leadership and instructional skills while flying Navy fighter jets and serving for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. Flying F-14 Tomcats, F/A-18 Hornets, and F-16 Falcons, this MAWTS-1 and TOPGUN trained pilot led men and women into combat, instructed young pilots to become tactical aviators, and taught combat strike leads how to balance leadership and tactical skills for successful strike missions around the world. He also was instrumental in the rapid integration of GPS weapons and air wing training in preparation for combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq during his assignment to Fallon, NV. Subsequently, he was selected to attend the U.S. Navy War College where he graduated with distinction, earned a masters degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and received orders to the Pentagon. There, he served as the West African political military affairs officer for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, providing advice and recommendations for national security affairs at the highest levels. At the end of this three year assignment, Jethro retired, joined the Check-6 team, and moved to Boise, ID with his wife and two children.

Since joining Check-6 in September 2007, Jethro has proven to be a valued member of the team. He has been an outstanding presenter, motivator, and instructor on land and offshore. As the North American Area Manager, he was instrumental in spearheading initiatives in Alaska, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania while continuing to grow the business in the Gulf of Mexico. Recently, he has been promoted and is proud to take over the role as Vice President of Sales for Check-6.
